Job Title: Pediatric Allergist / Immunologist - Jacksonville Florida

  Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville is seeking a Pediatric Allergist / Immunologist to join our team.  Candidates must be Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatrics and Allergy / Immunology.  Practice call is 1:6 weekends, and is coordinated with ER call.  Inpatient care is delivered at Wolfson Children's Hospital, located directly adjacent to our clinic. The 180 bed facility includes a 20 bed PICU and 48 Level 2 and 3 NICU beds, with a two bed sleep lab.   Our clinic is a nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis Care Center, the only one in North Florida.  The division also houses the Nemours Children’s Clinic Asthma Center, the only asthma program for children that integrates patient and family teaching with patient programs developed by pediatric specialists in both pulmonology and allergy/immunology. Pediatric nurse-specialists and respiratory-care practitioners provide teaching. Our Respiratory Therapists are certified asthma educators.  Division laboratories include the Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Pediatric Allergy Laboratory, and Pediatric Sleep Center. **Federal Employment** Serves as an Allergy-Immunology Specialist responsible for diagnosis and treatment of a full range of patients referred to Allergy-Immunology Clinic and IACH allergy-immunology patients. Cases include acute and chronic asthma, anaphylaxis, acute/chronic urticaria, hymenoptera, food allergy, GERD, COPD, vocal cord dysfunction, seasonal/perennial allergic rhinitis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, immune deficiency (congenital & acquired), acute/chronic sinusitis, vasomotor rhinitis, interstitial lung disease, rhinitis medicamentosa, idiopathic anaphylaxis and adverse drug reactions. Advises IACH physicians on treatment of patients who have allergic diseases. Responsible for ordering and supervision of allergy immunotherapy, treatment of adverse reactions to immunotherapy, drug challenge, drug desensitization, food challenge, and rush venom immunotherapy. Oversees pulmonary function testing, epicutaneous and intradermal skin testing. The presence of multiple chronic conditions and a wide range of allergy-immunology disorders and diseases complicate diagnoses and treatments, require the training and experience of a board certified physician in the Allergy-Immunology Clinic. Responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of the full range of outpatients seen in the clinic. Performs other duties as assigned.Conditions of Employment: This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position as well as current employees, will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations. For purposes of this standard, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the US or Canada. Listings of accredited programs are published yearly in the Directory of Residency Training Programs and the Yearbook and Directory of Osteopathic Physicians. Licensure: Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, DC, Puerto Rico, or a territory of the US.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess current certification in Basic life Support (BLS)/Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation from American Heart Association.
