Cardiologist San Antonio Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities is seeking a full-time Cardiologist to provide professional invasive and non-invasive cardiology servies.  Services are required for the period of 1 July 2009 through 30 September 2009.  The contract will have a one year option, 1 Oct 09 to 30 Sep 10.  Employment will be by a personal services firm-fixed price contract.  Services are required for the San Antonio Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities, to include San Antonio Military Medical Center - North (Brooke Army medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas) and San Antonio Military Medical Center - South (Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas). Applicant must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy (M.D. or D.O.) and meet all licensing/certification requirements to practice as a Cardiologist Physician. Applicants must be board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Applicant must have and maintain a valid license to practice in one of the 50 states/territories of the United States; must possess and maintain valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) certifications throughout the contract period of performance; must meet or exceed currently recognized national standards as established by the Joint Commission. Credentialing is required prior to performance of services.  Applicants shall be rated and ranked according to the following criteria: (a) prior experience, (b) prior education, and (c) past performance.
