Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified by the ABR in Radiation Oncology. The position is for a full-time clinician. We are especially interested in recruiting an individual to lead our stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) program. The SBRT program offers treatments for lung, liver, body and spine lesions. IGRT localization systems include cone-beam CT, OBI (EPID), or the EXAC TRAC. Respiratory gating and coaching are available for patients with signifi cant tumor motion. Three LINACS have SBRT capabilities, including a RapidArc machine. The SBRT program at Mayo Clinic was established in 2005 and is rapidly growing, with 644 SBRT fractions delivered in 2009. Several national and local SBRT protocols are open and accruing patients. Other duties will include teaching medical and physics residents, medical students and RTT students, participating in departmental and inter-departmental conferences, and performing clinical research.The Radiation Oncology Department at Mayo Clinic in Rochester maintains state-of-the-art facilities. The Clinic encompasses 42,500 square feet and includes 17 clinic exam rooms, 6 linear accelerator vaults, a dedicated brachytherapy suite with CT simulator, and an IORT suite in the adjacent hospital. Equipment in the clinic includes: 6 Varian EX treatment machines all with EPID and either OBI, cone beam CT, or EXAC TRAC; an electron IORT machine; Elekta Gamma Knife Perfexion; 3 GE Lightspeed RT CT simulators with 4D capability and Advantage Sim; MimVista; Eclipse treatment planning; 2 Varian Varisource afterloaders, including intraoperative capability; MOSAIQ informatics; and full access to all advanced modalities of diagnostic and nuclear medicine imaging for treatment planning and follow up.There are 17 Radiation Oncology staff physicians, 6 mid-level providers, and 5 nurses.
