Twin Cities Community Hospital is the sole provider of hospital care in North Can Luis Obispo County, with the next nearest hospital being Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, Twin's sister facility. Both hospitals are operated by Tenet Healthcare and together have over 70% market share in the County. Following the opening of a new patient tower anticipated in the summer of 2007, Twin Cities will operate 114 acute beds (18 ICU, 10 DOU, 10 OB Post Partum and 76 acute medical surgical beds. In addition, Twin will provide ER services in a new 23-suite ER. The hospital serves a population base of approximately 84,000 people in the communities of Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, San Miguel, Santa Margarita, Moro Bay, Cambria Pines, Cayucos and Shandon.
