A large medical center, part of large health system, is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.

The position involves a Monday through Friday outpatient schedule with additional hospital call duties. The provider will see 1520 patients per day, focusing on hematology (Hem) cases, with approximately 30% of the caseload being HemOnc versus medical oncology. They will document using EPIC and typically manage two new consults per day, split between 30-minute follow-ups and 45-minute new patient visits. New patient admissions are handled by either the oncologist or an APP. Call responsibilities include about 5% callback rate and are limited to clinic calls during the week, while weekends may include both phone calls and hospital-based coverage. About 25% of the call volume is hematology-related, and the locum will see both hematology and solid tumor patients.
