Locums Hospitalist Need in Nebraska

Coverage Needed:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Ongoing
• Schedule: 7a-7p, 7 on/7 off or 14 straight

Clinical Details:

• Daily management of hospitalized patients, participate in daily huddle, answer CDI queries, and round with nurses
• Call: Expected to attend code blues and rapid responses if in-house
• 3 MDs rounding during the day. One APP from 9a-5p, Mon-Fri, helping the on-call provider
• Support Staff: Remote admin support typically on-site once per week; APP available during day/night, intensivists available
• The ICU is open
• Not expected to run a vent or do procedures
• Do not have to intubate or do central lines
• No dedicated admitting provider, on-call provider sees 2-3 patients more than other providers on their call day. Will receive help from the other rounders
• Traditional round and leave system not followed, will be expected to cover patients, attend rapid responses, and talk to families if they request a provider
• EMR: EPIC

Requirements:

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency)
• Nebraska License or IMLC (LOQ in hand)
• Internal Medicine residency preferred; Family Medicine acceptable with hospitalist experience
• ACLS, DEA, BLS certifications required
• Malpractice: Clean preferred
• Must be comfortable in an open ICU; co-manage patients with intensivists
• Codes are required- expected to attend if in house
• Local providers preferred
