Family Medicine Physician Associate Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Fairbanks, Alaska

A corrections facility is seeking a Family Medicine Physician Associate for locum tenens coverage.

This position follows a 7-on, 7-off schedule with 10-hour shifts, available any day Monday through Sunday. The role is open to both MDs and NPs/PAs. There is no mention of call requirements. Providers typically see 812 adult patients per day, along with reviewing external medical records and labs. Candidates must have an active Alaska license, DEA, and a clear background check. The facility uses the TechCare EMR system. Support staff includes one MD, an NP, nursing staff, and nurse supervisorsproviders are never alone on-site. The nursing team handles bookings, phlebotomy, interventions like nebulizer treatments, and low-level sick call complaints. COVID and flu vaccination requirements are not specified. While clinical experience is helpful, a strong, team-oriented personality is considered more important than experience for this role.
