Aurora, Colorado (USA) Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine Pathologist (Open Rank)

AURORA, COLORADO (USA).
The Department of Pathology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Board-certified or Board-eligible Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine physician to join the Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service at University of Colorado Hospital, a large tertiary-care academic medical center. This is a full-time faculty position at open rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) and includes service as Associate Medical Director of the Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service.

The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of transfusion medicine practice, including oversight of blood bank and apheresis services, clinical consultation regarding blood utilization and transfusion reactions, and support of therapeutic apheresis programs. Responsibilities also include quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with laboratory leadership, technologists, and clinical teams to ensure safe and effective patient and donor care.

The position offers significant opportunities for education and academic development, including teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and laboratory staff, as well as engagement in scholarly activity consistent with academic rank. Candidates with additional expertise or interest in other areas of clinical pathology are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must hold an MD or DO (or equivalent), be board-certified in CP or AP/CP, and be board-certified or board-eligible in Blood Banking & Transfusion Medicine. Eligibility for unrestricted Colorado medical licensure is required. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
