Job Description:
A full-time opportunity is available for an Infectious Disease Physician to join a well-established, hospital-based consultative practice. This role focuses primarily on inpatient infectious disease consults with a small outpatient component, offering a balanced and collaborative work environment. The position includes participation in system-wide initiatives such as antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention, while leveraging advanced technology and telemedicine to support patient care across multiple facilities.
Shift / Schedule:
Full-time position
4.5 days of inpatient consultative services per week
0.5 day outpatient clinic
Call schedule: 1:3 rotation
Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient infectious disease consultative services
Deliver outpatient care in a clinic setting on a limited basis
Participate in a shared call rotation
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to and support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
Utilize infection surveillance systems to enhance patient safety and outcomes
Provide telemedicine consults across affiliated hospitals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR systems
Engage in quality improvement and infection prevention efforts
Requirements:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship Program
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease
Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
DEA certification
Open to experienced physicians and recent fellowship-trained candidates
