at University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Description The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Cardiac Surgery, seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for renewable terms of up to three years. Clinical responsibilities include independent call, inpatient rounding on LVAD patients, and supporting all Cardiac Surgery programs at the Hyde Park campus and affiliated offsite community practices and partner locations. Programs include CT Transplant, Procurement, and ECMO. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, 3) be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent, and 4) have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship and/or equivalent training in cardiovascular/thoracic (CVT) surgery.
