Posting Summary:
The Division of Pain Management, Department of Anesthesiology, Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, seeks an anesthesiologist with additional training in pain management for a full-time position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are a vibrant service with over 5,500 outpatient visits and over 1,500 Interventional Procedures per year. In addition, we have an ACGME accredited pain fellowship with one fellow per annum.
Clinical responsibilities will include: providing outpatient care at the Comprehensive Pain Center and procedures at our new state-of-the-art Pain Procedural Suite located at University Hospital as well as providing on-site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital.
Teaching the students, residents, and fellow takes place intra-operatively, in clinic plus formal didactic sessions. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to become further involved in the fellowship program as an Associate Director.
In addition, the candidate will participate in Faculty Development programs, work collaboratively with the members of the department both clinically and administratively and have the ability to participate in research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically.

Qualified applicants must: 1. Have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2. Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey, and 3. Be a BC/BE Anesthesiologist and in Pain Management. The effective day of the appointment is August 1st, 2026

Full-time faculty position for Attending General Anesthesiologist involving patient care, resident and student didactics, and research functions.
Statement:
Position Description:
Provide on-site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital in the Main Operating Rooms as well as the Same-Day-Surgery ORs in the Doctors Office Center and various off-the-floor locations;
Treat patients with chronic pain in the Comprehensive Pain Management Center;
Perform procedures in the Main OR and DOC when appropriate;
Provide intraoperative and didactic teaching that forwards pain management division;
Participate in various divisional/departmental/institutional initiatives and activities;
Participate in Faculty Development and skill/knowledge acquisition initiatives;
Participate and promote research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically;
All medical records must be completed in accordance with NJMS and hospital policies, including the completion of all medical records within 7 days of the date of service;
Complete all charge submissions within 14 days of the date of service; and
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chair and/or Division Chief.
