Physician - Child Protection Specialist

About the Opportunity

Hawai'i Pacific Health is seeking a pediatrician interested and experienced in Child Abuse Medicine to join our collaborative group that provides comprehensive inpatient pediatric care for the islands of Hawaii.

What You'll Do:

• Lead medical protection efforts at the only children's hospital in the Pacific

• Provide expert consultation for physically abused children

• Educate residents and medical students about child abuse and protection

• Act as liaison to hospital staff and community resources in child abuse and protection

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics

• Pediatrics Residency

• Eligible to obtain a medical license in the State of Hawaii

• 3 years of practice experience in child abuse or child abuse fellowship

• We will consider combining the position with work in another field for the right candidate (for example, general pediatrics or hospitalist medicine)

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i's leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit medical center delivers an average of 6,000 babies per year and is also a medical teaching and research facility.
