The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Consultant, Orthopedic Surgeon. This position is responsible for providing quality patient care to a primarily adolescent and young adult population in Ambulatory Care/Outpatient clinics at the CHS.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct medicalexaminations, diagnose, prescribe, treat and perform office based orthopedicprocedures.
  • Practice withinclinical skill and competencies.
  • Consult withother CHS health care providers.
  • Providetechnical direction to Nurse Practitioners and Nurses.
  • Cooperativeinteraction with other clinical and support staff.
  • Involvement incommittees and teams as appropriate.
  • Perform otherwork-related assignments as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability tocommunicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitiveinformation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school and license to practice medicine or Osteopathic Physician Licensure required.
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona.
  • Five years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board eligibility or certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
