Scheduling Notes

• ASAP start
• 24-hour shifts required
• Providers cannot work more than 2 consecutive 24-hour shifts
• In-house call coverage required for duration of shift
• Call rooms available

• Board Certified OB/GYN - Required
  • Will consider truly Board Eligible candidates
• Active Iowa License - Strongly Preferred
• IMLC Accepted
  • Active IMLC required if no IA license
  • LOQ must be submitted at name clear
• Non-Local Requirement
  • Providers local to the Des Moines area will not be accepted

• OB Hospitalist coverage only
• No GYN responsibilities
• Inpatient setting
• EMR: Epic
• No telehealth
• No APP supervision required
• MFM on call for support
• Residents present, but hospitalist does not oversee them
• Only maternity transport team in Iowa

• OBED coverage and rapid patient evaluation
• Labor management and fetal monitoring
• Vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Care for emergent OB patients
• Antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Support for L&D and OBED units
• Care for unassigned OB patients
• Delivery assistance and courtesy deliveries
• OB emergency response leadership
• Collaboration with midwives and care teams
• Documentation and order entry in Epic

• 8-bed OBED
• 2,900+ deliveries annually
• Approx. 1,389 OBED visits annually
• Approx. 463 OBED visits result in deliveries
• Imaging, lab, and pharmacy available onsite

• Comfortable with high-acuity obstetrics
• Strong independent OBED management experience
• Experienced with emergent deliveries and C-sections
• Comfortable in collaborative hospital environment
• Epic experience preferred
