  • A $100M, 165,000 sq. ft. standalone Eye Institute is opening in 2026 in Winston Salem s Innovation Quarter.
  • The four story facility will house all eye services, surgical suites, research, and clinical trials supporting 100,000+ patient visits annually.

Highlights

  • Full time academic surgical glaucoma position
  • Primarily outpatient clinical and surgical practice
  • Weekday schedule with shared call
  • Full spectrum glaucoma procedures including MIGS and complex surgery
  • Strong support: ophthalmic techs, orthoptists, admin staff, research coordinators
  • Significant involvement in resident, fellow, and medical student education
  • Four residents per year
  • Approved fellowships in Cornea, Retina-Vitreous, Glaucoma, and Pediatrics

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • MD, DO or MD-DO/PhD
  • Board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology
  • Completion of fellowship training in medical and surgical glaucoma
  • North Carolina unrestricted medical licensure or eligible
