Schedule- 7:00 PM 7:00 AM night shifts (12 hours)
- No call
- Up to 30 nights/month coverage (including holidays)
- In-house coverage required
- 7 AM sign-out to day team/7 PM sign-in from day team
- inpatients under service
- New consults and admissions daily
- Must be able to stabilize patients of all ages
- 10 consults/admissions per shift
- 1 highest-level trauma activation per night
Standard emergency general surgery + trauma coverage, including:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy
- Colon resections
- Bleeding control
- Incision & drainage
- Debridement
- Ulcer repair
- Full trauma surgery coverage as needed

LicensureNew York medical license required
Certifications- Board Certified (Surgery/Surgical Critical Care required)
- BLS (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross required prior to start)
Seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon to provide in-house overnight coverage at a high-volume ACS Verified Level II trauma center. Provider will manage acute surgical admissions, trauma activations, and inpatient surgical care with minimal support. Responsibilities include performing emergency general and trauma surgical procedures, managing consults/admissions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, critical care, and nursing staff. No resident support and minimal APP support available, requiring strong independent clinical experience.
Requirements- MD/DO
- 5+ years trauma surgery experience required
- Strong independent acute care surgery experience
- Comfortable with high-acuity overnight coverage model
