Our client, a prominent teaching hospital serving a diverse urban community, is hiring a Hospitalist Physician to join its Department of Medicine. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality inpatient care within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to patient recovery and overall health outcomes. Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess hospitalized patients to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care protocols.
  • Order, interpret, and utilize diagnostic tests effectively.
  • Perform various medical procedures required for inpatient management.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts, including specialists and ancillary staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
  • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Adhere to healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and best practices in patient safety.
  • Teaching and resident supervision.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree; foreign medical graduates considered with appropriate licensing.
  • Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited U.S. program.
  • Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Active or eligible Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.
  • Inpatient internal medicine care experience (1-3 years preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and bedside manners.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and Microsoft Office.
  • ACLS/BCLS certification required.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, inpatient setting.
  • Must be available to work a 7 days on/7 days off schedule (14 shifts per month).
  • No J1 visa sponsorship; visa transfer to H1B is considered.
