Hospitalist Job in Boston, Massachusetts

Join an established hospitalist team in Boston as a full-time nocturnist providing admissions and inpatient care with opportunities for teaching and academic appointment. The role emphasizes team-based practice, reasonable patient volumes, and strong peer support. Schedule Night shifts: Weekdays 6:45 PM-7:00 AM; weekends 6:30 PM-7:00 AM (one weekend shift extends to 7:30 AM) One daytime weekend shift per rotation: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM (covers 10 patients) Average: 12 twelve-hour shifts per month Typical admissions: 4-5 per shift Cross-coverage: 30-40 patients Team: 9 nocturnists per night with sick-call backup Clinical Responsibilities Admit and manage inpatients during nocturnal shifts Provide cross-coverage and continuity of care for 30-40 patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attendings Participate in teaching of medical students and residents (opportunity for academic appointment) Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Completion of an accredited residency program Eligible for Massachusetts medical license Hospitalist experience preferred but not required New graduates encouraged to apply Compensation & Benefits Starting base salary: $295,000+ (increases with experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance Generous paid time off and CME support Retirement plan with employer contribution Life and disability insurance Wellness programs Relocation assistance available Location Hospital located in central Boston within a world-class healthcare system Application Open to candidates seeking mentorship or experienced clinicians ready to contribute to a collaborative nocturnist team.
