Cardiologist Jobs in Peoria, IL
A Cardiologist is a critical figure in the medical field. They primarily diagnose and treat diseases and abnormalities of the heart and cardiovascular system. Their responsibilities may include conducting physical exams, interpreting test results, recommending and implementing treatment plans, and counseling patients on heart health. Following this, they must complete a three-year residency in internal medicine and a three-year fellowship in cardiology. Certifications typically include being board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Prior job roles one might hold before becoming a cardiologist include medical student, internal medicine resident, or cardiology fellow. These positions provide the necessary training and experience for the demanding role of a cardiologist.
