Gastroenterologist Jobs in South Carolina

Their work involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy. Before becoming a Gastroenterologist, an individual should possess a medical degree and have completed a residency in internal medicine. A Gastroenterologist must be board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or a similar accrediting body. Prior to specializing in Gastroenterology, they may have roles such as a medical intern, a resident in internal medicine, or a fellow in a subspecialty of internal medicine.
