Position Overview: The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, is seeking a skilled and motivated, board-certified Radiation Oncologist to join our team on a per diem basis. Per diem coverage opportunities will be offered multiple days per fiscal year, covering a variety of clinical sites across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Per diem physicians hired through Penn are employees of Clinical Care Associates and Penn Medicine. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, and contribute to the continued excellence of our department. The Radiation Oncology Department will cover the cost of licensure/license renewal, DEA, and malpractice coverage for per diem physicians working a minimum of 12 days per fiscal year, and the per diem contract is renewable on an annual basis. To ensure a seamless transition, all new per diem hires will participate in a robust onboarding process, designed to familiarize them with PennChart, Aria, and departmental policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Radiation Oncologist to work within one of the nation's leading academic medical centers, with the added benefit of a flexible schedule and comprehensive support from our department. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive radiation oncology consultations and treatment planning for patients across a broad range of cancer diagnoses Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other allied health professionals Perform treatment simulations, contouring, and treatment plan review in accordance with departmental protocols and standards Deliver and oversee radiation treatments, including but not limited to external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and brachytherapy, as applicable Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences, and departmental meetings as required Adhere to all radiation safety protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements Provide on-call coverage as needed Qualifications: Required: Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program Board certification and maintenance by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Radiation Oncology Current and valid medical licensure in PA and/or NJ, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date Demonstrated clinical expertise in radiation oncology with a strong commitment to patient-centered care Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment Ability to work a minimum of 12 days per fiscal year Preferred: Prior experience in an academic medical center or teaching hospital setting Familiarity with advanced radiation oncology technologies and treatment platforms, including IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SBRT/SRS, and proton therapy Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems About the Department: The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, is a world-renowned center for cancer care, research, and education.
