Join Our Team as a General Surgeon at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Medical Group! Location: Brattleboro, Vermont Position: Full-Time, Perm - General Surgeon Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $285,000 to $320,000 annually, with additional incentives based on productivity About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to become an integral part of our collaborative surgical team in the vibrant community of Brattleboro, Vermont. This position offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive surgical care in a supportive, community hospital setting, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and wound management services. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings Perform a variety of common general surgical procedures, including: Hernia repairs Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) Endoscopy procedures Appendectomy Management of small bowel obstructions Colorectal surgeries Skin and soft tissue surgeries Manage acute and chronic wounds within a multidisciplinary Wound Clinic model, offering expert evaluation and treatment Diagnose, treat, and manage a broad spectrum of surgical conditions with advanced operative skills and sound clinical judgment Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Physician Assistants, perioperative teams, emergency department staff, hospitalists, and wound care specialists Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, associated risks and benefits, and post-operative care plans Review diagnostic tests, interpret results, and address abnormalities promptly Provide surgical input for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life decision support Participate actively in departmental meetings, ongoing professional development, and training opportunities Ensure compliance with OSHA Category I standards, including bloodborne pathogen precautions Qualifications & Requirements: Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery Valid DEA certification and current CPR certification VMS certification requirements apply Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning Additional Conditions: Candidates who commute more than 1 hour are not eligible Not accepting visa candidates Not open to locum or locum-to-perm arrangements Not suitable for candidates planning to hold multiple positions simultaneously Benefits & Opportunities: Competitive base salary with productivity-based incentives Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off (PTO), continuing medical education (CME) allowance Supportive work environment fostering professional growth and work-life balance Opportunities for involvement in community health initiatives and specialized procedures Full employment privileges with flexible scheduling options Why Join Us: At Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Medical Group, you'll be part of a dedicated team committed to exceptional patient care, professional excellence, and community engagement.
