Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

We re seeking a Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Lufkin, TX . This is an inpatient-focused role providing 24-hour CV surgical call coverage for ED and referred elective cases. The facility offers competitive daily call and callback rates , along with full support and travel coverage.

• Location: Lufkin, Texas (multiple affiliated facilities)

• Coverage Type: 24-hour call coverage (7am 7am)

• Need Type: Ongoing locum support (flexible dates and shifts)

• Setting: Inpatient surgical coverage for CV, thoracic, and elective cases

• Procedures: Full-scope Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery

• Patients/Day:

• Support Staff: Standard hospital/clinic staff; vein harvesting support may be available depending on volume

• EMR Systems:

  • Clinic: Cerner McKesson Cardiology

  • Hospital: Paragon & CHS Proprietary EMR

• 24-Hour Daily Call Rate: $3,600

• Holiday 24-Hour Call Rate: $5,400

• Callback (Weekday): $400/hr

• Callback (Holiday): $600/hr

• Malpractice: Covered

• Travel & Lodging: Covered

• Airfare: Covered

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery Required

• Clean Malpractice History Required

• Must be able to harvest veins; PA support available depending on schedule
